September 1st. Knowledge Day. 📚
This is a special day for the children returning to school and for the teachers opening the doors for them to a new academic year.
Education and learning are the foundation of our society. The state, the government, and all involved parties bear an immense responsibility, because today's children are the ones who will shoulder the future of the country tomorrow.
I look back at my school years with gratitude. I was privileged to receive an excellent education within the Soviet educational system, which provided us not only with broad knowledge, but also with values of responsibility, respect, independence, and a sense of belonging.
I grew up with a sense of patriotism, but at times I also felt like an outsider due to being the only Jewish girl in the class. Perhaps precisely because of this, it is important to me today that every boy and girl in Israel feels that this is their country, this is their school, this is their society, and this is their future.
I wish all teachers and educational staff much strength, wisdom, and appreciation for your important work.
And to every student—curiosity, self-confidence, and success! Remember: you cannot teach a person who does not want to learn themselves. Therefore, ask questions, be curious, seek answers, and do not be afraid to learn and discover new things.
May it be a successful, peaceful school year filled with knowledge! 🍎📚
