Education Index – Elections 2026

Before we vote – we ask.

Before elections, we are used to hearing a great deal about security, the economy, the cost of living, and politics.

But there is one more question that must be at the center of the election campaign:

What will be the future of Israel's education system?

What will be the status of the teacher?

How much will a starting teacher earn?

Who are the people Israel will manage to attract to the teaching profession?

How will we improve the achievements of Israeli students in mathematics, sciences, Hebrew, and English?

How will we bridge the gaps between students?

How much of a teacher's time will continue to be wasted on bureaucracy instead of teaching?

Will school principals receive more authority and responsibility?

How will education budgets be allocated?

And will the State of Israel require core curriculum studies as a condition for receiving public funding?

This is why we are reaching out to the parties running for the Knesset with the exact same questionnaire and the exact same questions.

We didn't ask for slogans. We asked for commitments.

On every issue, we asked the parties to answer:

Yes or no.
What exactly will you do?
How much money will you invest?
When will you do it?
And how will the public be able to check whether the promise was kept?

We will present the answers side by side, without any recommendation on who to vote for and without any political ranking.

A party that does not reply – that fact will also be noted.

A party that answers in general terms without commitment – its answer will be presented as submitted.

And a party that presents a target, a budget, and a timetable – the public will be able to read and decide for itself.

Because the education system does not belong to the right or the left.

It belongs to our children.

And a country that wants a future of science, technology, a strong economy, an educated society, and security – must start in the classroom.

Elections 2026 – It's time to talk about education too.
